Claim for Temporary Lodging Allowance

Two former Army enlisted members appealed a previous disallowance of their claim for temporary lodging allowance for a 10-day period in 1973, incident to their military service in Germany. The claimants first applied for the allowance in September 1974 and, when they did not receive payment, again in November 1974. Several searches of Army records failed to locate the supporting information which the claimants indicate was forwarded. While it was unfortunate that their documentation may have been lost, the primary responsibility for furnishing satisfactory evidence to support payment of a claim is upon the claimant. Therefore, the claim was disallowed and the previous decision sustained.
