Highlights

The Executive, Per Diem, Travel and Transportation Allowance Committee, requested an advance decision concerning reimbursement of relocation expenses of an employee who had a heart attack after receiving transfer orders. The employee, whose orders were revoked, may not be reimbursed for real estate expenses in Maryland since the cancelled transfer was to a location outside the United States, but he may be reimbursed for transportation of household goods between his former residence sold incident to transfer orders and another residence purchased upon revocation of orders. A real estate claim is not considered a meritorious claim.
