Real Estate Expenses Related to Sale of House

The Chief, Accounting and Finance Division, Defense Logistics Agency, requested a decision regarding the entitlement of an employee to reimbursement of real estate expenses incurred in connection with the sale of his residence at his official station incident to a permanent change of station. Since the employee would have resided in his house at his old station except for a court order prohibiting him from doing so pending his divorce, he substantially complied with the occupancy requirement and was entitled to reimbursement of the real estate expenses.
