Request for Rescission of Contract Because of Mistake in Bid

A decision was requested with regard to rescission of a sale of surplus Government property because the proposed buyer alleged a mistake in its bid. The contracting officer was not placed on constructive notice of the possibility of an error since there is generally a wide range of bids on surplus property. There is no basis on which the sales contract may be rescinded.
