Overpayment of Basic Allowance for Quarters

A former Army member requested reconsideration of the denial of his claim for waiver of indebtedness for erroneous payments of basic allowance for quarters (BAQ) because the member continued to receive BAQ after his wife joined him and they lived in Government quarters furnished without cost. The request for waiver was denied because the member should have known that continued payment of BAQ while he occupied Government quarters was questionable.
