Highlights

A decision was requested regarding an employee's claim for reimbursement of some of the purchaser's closing costs which the employee paid when selling his residence at his old duty station. Although the seller frequently assumes some of the purchaser's closing costs as an inducement for the purchaser to buy a residence, the employee may not be reimbursed for the amount paid since such costs are not customarily paid by the seller in the location where the sale occurred.
