Please note that a lapse in appropriations has caused GAO to shut down its operations. Highlights

A decision was requested on the propriety of paying per diem and transportation allowances to an officer in connection with a change of duty station. The officer, who was entitled to per diem allowances while attending a training course, continued to be eligible for appropriate travel allowances since his transfer indicated that he was on temporary duty awaiting further assignment.
