Reconsideration of Decision Involving Mistake in Bid

A company requested reconsideration of a decision holding that the apparent low bid should not have been rejected by the agency and recommending that the contract be terminated and the remaining portion of the contract be awarded to the low bidder. The low bidder's intended bid prices could be ascertained from the face of the bid, and the contracting officer erred in failing to verify the bid. It is clear that the mistake was clerical in nature, but award to the low bidder would not have been proper. The previous decision that the contract should be terminated is reversed.
