An officer requested reconsideration of the disallowance of his claim for additional Bachelor Officer Quarters (BOQ) fees for a period of temporary duty, claiming that he saved the Government money by occupying BOQ instead of claiming per diem while in commercial lodgings. Since BOQs are not considered temporary lodging facilities, the maximum increase the officer may receive is $2 per night instead of the $4 per night claimed for use of the VIP BOQ.
