Claim for Dependent Transportation Upon Retirement

A retired Army member requested reconsideration of the denial of his claim for dependent travel incident to his retirement. The member was assigned to a separation facility, not to a permanent change of station, and there is no authority for dependent transportation to such a facility. The dependents were also not entitled to travel at Government expense to the selected home of retirement since that residence was at the same location where the member and dependents resided prior to retirement.
