WILLIAMS: THIS ACTION IS IN RESPONSE TO A LETTER DATED AUGUST 24. SERGEANT WILLIAMS WAS ORDERED ON A PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION WITH A PERMANENT CHANGE OF ASSIGNMENT TO THE UNITED STATES TAIWAN DEFENSE COMMAND AT TAIPEI. SERGEANT WILLIAMS SAYS THAT HE WAS ADVISED BY PERSONNEL IN BOTH TRANSPORTATION AND PERSONNEL AT HURLBURT FIELD TO MOVE HIS DEPENDENTS TO A DESIGNATED LOCATION. SINCE IT WAS INCIDENT TO THE MEMBER'S PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION. WAS AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE. THE ORIGINAL ORDERS FAILED TO SPECIFY WHETHER THE TOUR WAS TO BE ACCOMPANIED OR UNACCOMPANIED. THE RECORD INDICATES THAT THE MEMBER WAS ADVISED THAT NORMAL PROCESSING FOR MOVEMENT OF HIS DEPENDENTS UNDER THESE AMENDED ORDERS REQUIRED A 20 WEEK WAITING PERIOD FROM THE DATE OF THE MEMBER'S PORT CALL UNTIL A PORT CALL FOR HIS DEPENDENTS COULD BE OBTAINED.
