Comments And Suggestions for Independent Review And Evaluation Of International Organizations And Institutions

As U.S. participation in multilateral organizations and programs has become increasingly evident as part of the total U.S. developmental assistance effort, GAO had been seeking ways of promoting and encouraging a better awareness on the part of U.S. representatives to the governing bodies of the organizations as to the need for mechanisms which would provide them with assurances that funds contributed by the United States are being used in an effective and efficient manner and to accomplish intended objectives.
