WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY THE PROCUREMENT AGENCY THAT IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE SPECIFICATIONS CONTAINED INCONSISTENCIES WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN THE RECEIPT OF EQUIPMENT THAT WOULD NOT HAVE SATISFIED THE GOVERNMENT'S REQUIREMENTS. NO FURTHER ACTION WITH RESPECT THERETO WILL BE TAKEN BY OUR OFFICE.

BY TELEFAX DATED MAY 22, 1963, YOU QUESTIONED THE SPECIFICATIONS SET OUT IN INVITATION FOR BIDS NO. AMC-36-039-63-2684-A1, ISSUED BY THE UNITED STATES ARMY ELECTRONICS MATERIEL AGENCY, PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.

WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY THE PROCUREMENT AGENCY THAT IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE SPECIFICATIONS CONTAINED INCONSISTENCIES WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN THE RECEIPT OF EQUIPMENT THAT WOULD NOT HAVE SATISFIED THE GOVERNMENT'S REQUIREMENTS. IN VIEW THEREOF, THE CONTRACTING OFFICER, PRIOR TO BID OPENING, CANCELLED THE INVITATION ON JUNE 4, 1963.

INASMUCH AS THE CANCELLATION OF THE INVITATION APPEARED TO BE CLEARLY IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST (ASPR 2-20), NO FURTHER ACTION WITH RESPECT THERETO WILL BE TAKEN BY OUR OFFICE.
