CONCERNING THE PAYMENT OF THE AMOUNT WHICH WAS DUE MRS. JONES AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH WHILE SHE WAS EMPLOYED BY THE DEFENSE SUPPLY AGENCY. WAS FOUND GUILTY OF VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER IN CAUSING THE DEATH OF MRS. BAILEY AS GUARDIAN OF THE MINOR CHILDREN OF THE DECEASED IS STILL IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT. A SETTLEMENT WILL BE ISSUED TO MRS.

WE REFER TO YOUR LETTER OF JANUARY 25, 1967, CONCERNING THE PAYMENT OF THE AMOUNT WHICH WAS DUE MRS. MARGUERITE T. JONES AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH WHILE SHE WAS EMPLOYED BY THE DEFENSE SUPPLY AGENCY, DEFENSE CLOTHING AND TEXTILE SUPPLY CENTER, PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.

IN VIEW OF THE FACT THAT MORRIS T. JONES, HUSBAND OF THE DECEASED, WAS FOUND GUILTY OF VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER IN CAUSING THE DEATH OF MRS. JONES IT NOW APPEARS THAT THE AMOUNT DUE HER AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE UNITED STATES AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH MAY PROPERLY BE PAID TO THE GUARDIAN OF HER MINOR CHILDREN UNDER THE ACT OF AUGUST 3, 1950, 64 STAT. 395, 5 U.S.C. 61F-K (1964 ED.), NOV 5 U.S.C. 5581-5583.

ACCORDINGLY, UPON RECEIPT IN THE CLAIMS DIVISION OF OUR OFFICE (UNITED STATES GENERAL ACCOUNTING OFFICE) OF A CERTIFIED COPY OF THE BILL OF INDICTMENT OF MORRIS T. JONES, SHOWING HIS INDICTMENT THEREON, PLEA ENTERED THERETO AND THE SENTENCE IMPOSED AS WELL AS A CERTIFICATE FROM THE COURT SHOWING THAT THE APPOINTMENT OF MRS. BAILEY AS GUARDIAN OF THE MINOR CHILDREN OF THE DECEASED IS STILL IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT, A SETTLEMENT WILL BE ISSUED TO MRS. BAILEY FOR THE AMOUNT DUE.
