WHICH WAS TRANSMITTED HERE FOR OUR CONSIDERATION. WHICH WAS THE SUBJECT OF YOUR TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITH MR. IN WHICH IT WAS AGREED THAT THE MATERIAL WAS GENERAL IN NATURE AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT AFFORD THE BEST BASIS FOR A DETERMINATION BY THIS OFFICE AS TO THE PROPRIETY OF THE STATED POLICY OF THE BUREAU. IN ACCORD WITH SUCH AGREEMENT WE SHALL THEREFORE DEFER FURTHER ACTION ON THE MATTER UNTIL SUCH TIME AS YOU PRESENT THE QUESTION ANEW IN CONNECTION WITH A SPECIFIC DEPARTMENT OF LABOR PREVAILING WAGE RATE DETERMINATION INVOLVING A PROJECT ON WHICH THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION IS CURRENTLY INSISTING ON STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH THE POLICY. WE ARE RETURNING THE ENCLOSURES FORWARDED TO SENATOR CURTIS WITH YOUR LETTER OF JUNE 25.

YOUR LETTER DATED JUNE 25, 1964, TO SENATOR CARL T. CURTIS, WHICH WAS TRANSMITTED HERE FOR OUR CONSIDERATION, REFERS TO OUR LETTER OF JUNE 12, 1964, TO SENATOR CURTIS, WHEREIN WE SUGGESTED THAT ANY QUESTION WHICH MAY ARISE RELATING TO THE STATED GENERAL POLICY OF THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION REQUIRING CONTRACTORS TO LIMIT EACH CARPENTER AND FORM SETTER TO ONE HELPER SHOULD BE PRESENTED TO US FOR CONSIDERATION IN CONNECTION WITH A SPECIFIC BUREAU OF RECLAMATION PROJECT INVOLVING A SPECIFIC DEPARTMENT OF LABOR PREVAILING WAGE RATE DETERMINATION.

IN RESPONSE THERETO YOUR LETTER OF JUNE 25 TRANSMITTED ADDITIONAL MATERIAL FOR OUR CONSIDERATION, WHICH WAS THE SUBJECT OF YOUR TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITH MR. LEWIS OF THIS OFFICE ON JULY 8, 1964, IN WHICH IT WAS AGREED THAT THE MATERIAL WAS GENERAL IN NATURE AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT AFFORD THE BEST BASIS FOR A DETERMINATION BY THIS OFFICE AS TO THE PROPRIETY OF THE STATED POLICY OF THE BUREAU.
