INC: FURTHER REFERENCE IS MADE TO YOUR LETTER OF JUNE 21. THERE WERE NO CHANGE ORDERS. NOR WERE THERE ANY FOLLOW-ON ORDERS. FIRST ARTICLE TESTS WERE USED TO DETERMINE THE ACCEPTABILITY OF THE EQUIPMENT. SPECIFIC SPARE PARTS PURCHASED AND THEIR PRICES ARE LISTED IN THE ENCLOSED "EXHIBIT "1" CONTRACT AF 33/600/43025.'. 000 WAS PAID FOR REVISION OF HANDBOOKS TO INCLUDE KA-40 CAMERAS AND $17. 435 WAS CREDITED TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE DELETION OF TEST CONTROL UNITS. FIRST ARTICLE TESTS WERE WAIVED TO PERMIT EARLY SHIPMENT OF A QUANTITY OF CAMERAS NEEDED TO FULFILL AN URGENT NAVY REQUIREMENT. THE BAILMENT PROVISION WAS DELETED AS THE CONTRACTOR HAD MODELS OF THE CAMERA AND DRAWINGS THAT WERE PROPOSED TO BE BAILED.

FURTHER REFERENCE IS MADE TO YOUR LETTER OF JUNE 21, 1961, REQUESTING SPECIFIC INFORMATION IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROCUREMENT OF CERTAIN AERIAL CAMERAS UNDER SEVERAL CONTRACTS.

UNDER CONTRACT AF 33/600/-40982, THERE WERE NO CHANGE ORDERS, PRICE INCREASES, AMENDMENTS, WAIVERS, DELETIONS, EXCEPTIONS OR OTHER CONDITIONS, NOR WERE THERE ANY FOLLOW-ON ORDERS. FIRST ARTICLE TESTS WERE USED TO DETERMINE THE ACCEPTABILITY OF THE EQUIPMENT. SPECIFIC SPARE PARTS PURCHASED AND THEIR PRICES ARE LISTED IN THE ENCLOSED "EXHIBIT "1" CONTRACT AF 33/600/43025.'

UNDER CONTRACT AF 33/600/-42647, AWARDED UNDER IFB 33-600-61-147, CHANGE TO A NEW TYPE SHUTTER INCREASED THE CONTRACT PRICE BY $537,635 AND A REVISION OF INSTALLATION KIT SPECIFICATIONS INCREASED THE CONTRACT PRICE BY $85,578. INCREASED QUANTITIES OF CAMERAS, CARRYING CASES, INSTALLATION KITS AND CASSETTES BROUGHT ADDITIONAL COSTS OF $927,225,$16,350, $26,136 AND $29,250 RESPECTIVELY. PURCHASE OF ADAPTER KITS AND ANOTHER TYPE OF CASSETTE COST $19,700 AND $1,500 RESPECTIVELY. IN ADDITION, $7,000 WAS PAID FOR REVISION OF HANDBOOKS TO INCLUDE KA-40 CAMERAS AND $17,435 WAS CREDITED TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE DELETION OF TEST CONTROL UNITS. FIRST ARTICLE TESTS WERE WAIVED TO PERMIT EARLY SHIPMENT OF A QUANTITY OF CAMERAS NEEDED TO FULFILL AN URGENT NAVY REQUIREMENT. THE BAILMENT PROVISION WAS DELETED AS THE CONTRACTOR HAD MODELS OF THE CAMERA AND DRAWINGS THAT WERE PROPOSED TO BE BAILED. THE CONTRACTOR WAS AUTHORIZED TO SHIP UP TO 50 CAMERAS WITH COMMERCIAL HANDBOOKS TO MEET NAVY REQUIREMENTS BUT SPECIFICATION HANDBOOKS WERE TO BE SHIPPED AT A LATER DATE WITH NO INCREASE IN PRICE. PERFORMANCE TESTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH BUREAU OF NAVAL WEAPONS SPECIFICATION XPH-157 WERE CONDUCTED TO ASCERTAIN THE ACCEPTABILITY OF THE EQUIPMENT. NOTHING HAS BEEN SPENT FOR SPARE PARTS.

UNDER THE CONTRACT AWARDED UNDER IFB 33-600-60-245 THERE HAS BEEN ONE MODIFICATION. IT ESTABLISHED A RESUBMISSION DATE FOR THE REJECTED FIRST ARTICLES AND ACCELERATED THE PRODUCTION DELIVERY SCHEDULE AS CONSIDERATION. THERE HAVE BEEN NO WAIVERS AND CHANGES AND NONE ARE CURRENTLY BEING NEGOTIATED. THE PROCURING OFFICE HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY CHANGES WITH REGARD TO, OR ANY REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR, THE CARRYING CASE.

THE REQUISITIONING AGENCY REQUESTED THE CANCELLATION OF IFB 33-600 61-227 IN ORDER TO PROVIDE TIME FOR THE EVALUATION OF AN ADVANCED DESIGN CAMERA.
