B-142530, JAN. 17, 1961

TO JACKMAN AND BENTON:

FURTHER REFERENCE IS MADE TO YOUR LETTER OF APRIL 29, 1960, RELATIVE TO THE CLAIM OF THE MARLENE BLOUSE CORPORATION, 141 WEST 36TH STREET, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNDER SALES CONTRACT NO. N407S-8982 DATED AUGUST 21, 1959.

IN REVIEWING THE CORPORATION'S CLAIM WE FOUND IT NECESSARY TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY TO FURNISH US WITH CERTAIN INFORMATION AS TO THE CONDITION OF THE INJECTOR ASSEMBLIES. THE RECORD INDICATES THAT THE DEPARTMENT HAS CONTACTED MR. HARRY KRAUSE OF OF THE CORPORATION BY LETTERS AND TELEPHONE MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE REINSPECTION OF THE INJECTOR ASSEMBLIES BY A NAVAL INSPECTOR, BUT THAT MR. KRAUSE HAS FAILED TO ANSWER THE DEPARTMENT'S INQUIRIES OR TO MAKE THE NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS FOR REINSPECTION OF THE MATERIAL. UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, WE ARE ASSUMING THAT THE CORPORATION HAS ABANDONED ITS CLAIM, AND OUR FILE ON THIS CASE IS BEING CLOSED.
