TO MR. T. C. CRABE, USCG, AUTHORIZED CERTIFYING OFFICER, UNITED STATES COAST GUARD:

BY FIRST ENDORSEMENT DATED SEPTEMBER 21, 1959, THE ACTING CHIEF, PAYMENTS AND CLAIMS DIVISION, OFFICE OF THE COMMANDANT, HEADQUARTERS, UNITED STATES COAST GUARD, FORWARDED YOUR LETTER OF THE SAME DATE, WITH ENCLOSURES, REQUESTING DECISION AS TO THE RIGHT OF WARRANT OFFICER ALBERT H. TREMLETT, JR. (28020), UNITED STATES COAST GUARD, TO BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR QUARTERS ON ACCOUNT OF A DEPENDENT (ADOPTED MINOR CHILD) UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE CAREER COMPENSATION ACT OF 1949, 63 STAT. 802.

ACCORDINGLY, PAYMENT OF BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR QUARTERS TO MR. TREMLETT AS FOR AN OFFICER WITH A DEPENDENT (ADOPTED MINOR CHILD) WILL BE PASSED TO CREDIT, PROVIDED THE ALLOWANCE IS OTHERWISE PROPERLY PAYABLE, FROM SEPTEMBER 1 THROUGH 3, 1959, THE DATE OF THE DEPENDENCY CERTIFICATE (DD FORM 137) SUBMITTED WITH YOUR LETTER, AND AS LONG AS THERE IS NO MATERIAL CHANGE IN THE DEPENDENCY STATUS OF THE CHILD.

THIS DECISION, OR A COPY, SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE ACCOUNT WHEREIN CREDIT IN THIS DECISION WAS FIRST CLAIMED.
