YOUR LETTER OF FEBRUARY 17, 1957, TO THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION REQUESTING CONSIDERATION OF YOUR CLAIM FOR THE BONUS GRANTED ALL WORKERS OF THE GOVERNMENT SERVICE DURING WORLD WAR I BASED ON YOUR EMPLOYMENT AT THE FRANKFORD ARSENAL FROM FEBRUARY 2, 1917 TO NOVEMBER 11, 1917, HAS BEEN FORWARDED HERE BY YOU FOR OUR CONSIDERATION.

YOUR CLAIM FOR INCREASED COMPENSATION OR BONUS INCIDENT TO YOUR EMPLOYMENT AT THE FRANKFORD ARSENAL WAS DATED FEBRUARY 12, 1940, AND RECEIVED IN OUR OFFICE ON FEBRUARY 13, 1940. IT WAS DISALLOWED BY OUR SETTLEMENT OF APRIL 18, 1940, FOR THE REASON THAT THE ACT OF AUGUST 10, 1939, PUBLIC LAW 369, 53 STAT. 1343, BARRED CONSIDERATION OF ALL SUCH CLAIMS UNLESS PRESENTED TO THE GENERAL ACCOUNTING OFFICE WITHIN SIX MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF ENACTMENT OF THAT ACT.

YOUR CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION FOR HOLIDAYS AND SUNDAYS WORKED DURING THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 1941 TO AUGUST 15, 1945, WAS DISALLOWED BY OUR SETTLEMENT OF SEPTEMBER 19, 1952, AND YOU WERE ALSO INFORMED AT THAT TIME OF THE DISALLOWANCE OF YOUR PREVIOUS CLAIM FOR INCREASED COMPENSATION DURING WORLD WAR I, BY SETTLEMENT OF APRIL 18, 1940.

YOU HAVE SUBMITTED NO NEW OR MATERIAL EVIDENCE NOT PREVIOUSLY CONSIDERED. THE TWO SETTLEMENTS APPEAR CORRECT AND ARE SUSTAINED.
