IN OUR DECISION TO YOU OF MARCH 29, 1955, B-122907, I-17000-119, IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT YOUR MOTHER WAS IN FACT DEPENDENT ON YOU FOR CHIEF SUPPORT DURING THE PERIOD OCTOBER 1, 1943, TO DECEMBER 22, 1945, BUT THAT SHE WAS NOT DEPENDENT ON YOU FOR CHIEF SUPPORT DURING THE PERIOD JUNE TO SEPTEMBER 3, 1949. YOU WERE INFORMED THAT IT APPEARED FROM INFORMAL ADVICE RECEIVED BY US FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE THAT YOU HAD REFUNDED THE SUM OF $167.80, REPRESENTING THE INCREASED ALLOWANCES PAID TO YOU ON ACCOUNT OF YOUR MOTHER FOR THE PERIOD JUNE 7 TO SEPTEMBER 3, 1949, THUS INDICATING THAT YOUR INDEBTEDNESS HAD BEEN FULLY LIQUIDATED.

BY LETTER DATED MAY 31, 1955, COPY ENCLOSED, THE CHIEF, SETTLEMENTS DIVISION, AIR FORCE FINANCE CENTER, DENVER 5, COLORADO, ADVISES THAT THE INFORMATION SET FORTH IN THE LAST PARAGRAPH OF OUR DECISION TO YOU OF MARCH 29, 1955, RESPECTING THE PERIOD COVERED BY THE REFUND OF $167.80 BY YOU WAS IN ERROR. HE EXPLAINS THAT THE AMOUNT RECOVERED REPRESENTS THE INCREASED ALLOWANCES PAID TO YOU FOR THE PERIOD JULY 12 TO SEPTEMBER 3, 1949, LEAVING UNREFUNDED THE INCREASED ALLOWANCE PAYMENTS COVERING THE PERIOD JUNE 7 TO JULY 11, 1949.

THE CHIEF, SETTLEMENTS DIVISION, AIR FORCE FINANCE CENTER, IS BEING REQUESTED BY LETTER OF TODAY, COPY ALSO ENCLOSED, TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO RECOVER THE BALANCE OF YOUR INDEBTEDNESS.
