TO MR. JAMES N. TATTERSALL:

YOUR LETTER OF JUNE 16, 1955, REQUESTED FRUTHER CONSIDERATION OF YOUR CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF THE COST OF SHIPPING YOUR HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS INCIDENT TO YOUR RELEASE FROM ACTIVE DUTY AS FIRST LIEUTENANT, ARMY OF THE UNITED STATES.

AS WAS POINTED OUT IN OUR DECISION TO YOU DATED MARCH 24, 1955, B 121197, YOU WERE ENTITLED UPON YOUR RELEASE FROM ACTIVE DUTY TO THE SHIPMENT OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE FROM FORT CAMPBELL, KENTUCKY, TO KIRKLAND, WASHINGTON, NOT TO EXCEED THE COST TO YOUR HOME, TRONA, CALIFORNIA. HAD YOUR EFFECTS BEEN SHIPPED BY VAN FROM FORT CAMPBELL TO TRONA THE COST FOR TRANSPORTATION WOULD HAVE BEEN $438.50. THE COST PAID BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF YOUR EFFECTS FROM FORT CAMPBELL TO MERIDIAN, IDAHO, AS REQUESTED IN A WRITTEN APPLICATION DATED MAY 21, 1952, WHICH BEARS YOUR SIGNATURE, WAS $356.18. HENCE, THE BALANCE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S OBLIGATION FOR TRANSPORTATION OF YOUR EFFECTS WAS $438.50 LESS $356.18, OR $82.32. THAT AMOUNT HAS BEEN PAID TO YOU. YOUR LETTER CONTAINS NO RELEVANT FACTS NOT PREVIOUSLY CONSIDERED AND DOES NOT WARRANT ANY DIFFERENT ACTION IN THE MATTER.
