INCIDENT TO YOUR ORDERS TO ACTIVE DUTY AND ASSIGNMENT TO DUTY AT CAMP LEJEUNE, NORTH CAROLINA, YOU WERE ENTITLED UNDER PARAGRAPHS 8006 1A AND 8009 OF THE JOINT TRAVEL REGULATIONS TO THE PACKING, NECESSARY TEMPORARY STORAGE, AND SHIPMENT OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE FROM YOUR HOME TO YOUR PERMANENT DUTY STATION, OR BETWEEN OTHER POINTS AT NO GREATER COST. PARAGRAPH 8013-1 OF THE REGULATIONS PROVIDES THAT THE AUTHORITY FOR SHIPMENT OF HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE EXTENDS ONLY TO THE THROUGH SHIPMENT TO AUTHORIZED ULTIMATE DESTINATION OF THE SAME LOT OF HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS, THE EFFECT OF WHICH IS TO PROHIBIT REIMBURSEMENT OF ANY TRANSPORTATION CHARGES IN EXCESS OF THE TRANSPORTATION SO AUTHORIZED INCREASED BY SHIPPING TO A PLACE FOR TEMPORARY STORAGE WITH SUBSEQUENT RESHIPMENT TO THE AUTHORIZED ULTIMATE DESTINATION.

IN VIEW OF THE FOREGOING YOU ARE ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT ON YOUR CLAIM COMPUTED AS FOLLOWS: TRANSPORTATION OF 3,640 POUNDS OF HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS FROM BELLEVILLE, KANSAS, TO CAMP LEJEUNE, NORTH CAROLINA, AT THE APPLICABLE TARIFF RATE OF $10.15 PER HUNDRED POUNDS, OR $369.46; PACKING, $20.35; WAREHOUSE LABOR AND WRAPPING, $22.80; LABOR OUT OF STORAGE, $17.20, AND STORAGE $132.80, OR A TOTAL OF $562.61, LESS THE AMOUNT OF $365.73 PAID BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR TRANSPORTATION OF YOUR EFFECTS FROM EMPORIA TO CAMP LEJEUNE, OR $196.88. BY THE SETTLEMENT OF OCTOBER 19, 1953, YOU WERE ALLOWED THE SUM OF $188.97. HENCE, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $7.91. A SETTLEMENT FOR THAT AMOUNT WILL ISSUE IN YOUR FAVOR IN DUE COURSE.

THERE IS NO AUTHORITY UNDER THE REGULATIONS FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF THE CHARGES FOR INSURANCE.
