BARBARA ANN TAYLOR, WIDOW OF RICHARD C. TAYLOR, DECEASED, FOR AMOUNTS DUE DECEDENT AT DATE OF HIS DEATH, APRIL 19, 1952, AS ARMORY DRILL PAY INCIDENT TO HIS SERVICE AS AIRMAN SECOND CLASS, GRADE E-3, 164TH FIGHTER SQUADRON (SE), 121ST FIGHTER GROUP, OHIO AIR NATIONAL GUARD, AND AS CIVILIAN COMPENSATION (INCLUDING PAYMENT FOR UNUSED ANNUAL LEAVE) INCIDENT TO HIS SERVICE AS CIVILIAN SHEET METAL WORKER, OHIO NATIONAL GUARD. WITH SUCH REQUEST THERE WERE TRANSMITTED TO THIS OFFICE FOR APPROPRIATE DISPOSITION, CHECKS NOS. 10,564, AND 9,896, DATED APRIL 25, 1952, AND APRIL 19, 1952, RESPECTIVELY, IN FAVOR OF THE DECEDENT, DRAWN BY YOU UNDER SYMBOL NO. 225-387, IN PAYMENT OF ALL OF THE ARMORY DRILL PAY REMAINING DUE AND PART OF THE CIVILIAN COMPENSATION IN QUESTION.

SINCE CHECK FOR $3.43 COVERING ONE DAY'S ARMORY DRILL PAY, DRAWN ON ARMORY DRILL PAY ROLL OF DECEDENT'S ORGANIZATION FOR THE PERIOD APRIL 1 TO JUNE 30, 1952, WAS INADVERTENTLY DELIVERED TO DECEDENT'S WIFE AND WAS CASHED BY HER, THE ONLY AMOUNT OF UNPAID ARMORY DRILL PAY INVOLVED IS THAT COVERED BY THE ABOVE DESCRIBED CHECK 10,564. THEREFORE, THE CLAIM FOR ARMORY DRILL PAY, BEING, IN EFFECT, A CLAIM FOR THE PROCEEDS OF THE SAID CHECK, WILL BE HANDLED BY THE CLAIMS DIVISION OF THIS OFFICE AND AN ADVANCE DECISION THEREON WILL NOT BE NECESSARY.

ALSO, THE CLAIM FOR CIVILIAN COMPENSATION (INCLUDING COMPENSATION FOR LEAVE) WILL BE RETAINED IN THIS OFFICE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND DIRECT SETTLEMENT, ANY AMOUNT DUE ON SUCH CLAIM BEING FOR PAYMENT TO THE PERSON ENTITLED THERETO UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF OHIO.
