THE SYSTEM AS DESCRIBED IS HEREBY APPROVED AS TO ITS BASIC ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES. WILL BE EFFECTIVE JULY 1. THE SYSTEM THEREFORE WILL NECESSARILY HAVE LIMITED USE FOR YOUR ACTIVITIES PENDING ACTUAL CONSOLIDATION OF THE ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS FOR THE NEW AGENCY. WE ARE PLEASED TO HAVE WORKED WITH YOU IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUR ACCOUNTING SYSTEM. IT IS ANOTHER FINE EXAMPLE OF THE COOPERATIVE APPROACH TO IMPROVE ACCOUNTING IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. YOUR LETTER OF JUNE 19, 1958, TRANSMITTED FOR APPROVAL AN ACCOUNTING MANUAL DESCRIBING THE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM OF THE OFFICE OF DEFENSE MOBILIZATION. THE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM HAS BEEN REVIEWED AND DISCUSSED WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF YOUR OFFICE. THE SYSTEM AS DESCRIBED IS HEREBY APPROVED AS TO ITS BASIC ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES, STANDARDS AND RELATED REQUIREMENTS.

THE PROVISIONS OF REORGANIZATION PLAN NO. 1 OF 1958, CONSOLIDATING YOUR AGENCY WITH THE FEDERAL CIVIL DEFENSE ADMINISTRATION TO FORM A NEW OFFICE OF DEFENSE AND CIVILIAN MOBILIZATION, WILL BE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1958. THE SYSTEM THEREFORE WILL NECESSARILY HAVE LIMITED USE FOR YOUR ACTIVITIES PENDING ACTUAL CONSOLIDATION OF THE ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS FOR THE NEW AGENCY.
