Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO reviewed the audit report covering the financial statements of the Army and Navy Union of the United States of America, Incorporated, for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1997, focusing on whether the audit report complied with the financial reporting requirements of the law.

GAO noted that: (1) the Army and Navy Union of the United States of America, Incorporated, provided an unaudited Internal Revenue Service tax form; and (2) this form does not meet the financial reporting requirements of the law.
