Selection Into the Senior Executive Service at GAO (1992-1997)

The General Accounting Office (GAO) Personnel Appeals Board studied competitive selections for the Senior Executive Service (SES) at GAO for 1992 through 1997. The study compared the representation of members of specific racial, ethnic, gender, age, and disability groups in the SES to the representation of those groups in the pools of those eligible for SES selection and those who sought entry into the SES for the period covered. The report also discussed the SES selection procedures and types of appointments at GAO.
