Short Electronics, Inc.-- Reconsideration:

Short Electronics, Inc. requests that we reconsider our dismissal of its protest of award under request for proposals (RFP) No. N68335-90-R 0156, issued by the Department of the Navy. We dismissed Short's protest by notice dated September 12, 1990 because it was untimely filed. We deny the request.

In its protest, which was filed on September 10, Short complained that the Navy issued a solicitation for the same items Short was already under contract to provide. We found the protest untimely because it was not filed within 10 days of the August 13 closing date for receipt of proposals, as required by our Bid Protest Regulations. 4 C.F.R. Sec. 21.2(a)(1) (1990).

Under our Regulations, to obtain reconsideration the requesting party must provide a detailed statement of the factual and legal grounds upon which reversal or modification of our decision is warranted. 4 C.F.R. Sec. 21.12(a). In its request for reconsideration, Short reasserts its basis for protest, but does not take issue with our conclusion that its protest was untimely. As we properly dismissed the protest as untimely, and Short does not argue otherwise, we have no basis upon which to reconsider the matter.

The request for reconsideration is denied.
