A firm protested a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) solicitation for chemical defense biological analysis, contending that the solicitation should be divided into two parts so that a portion of the solicitation could be set aside for small business participation. GAO held that DLA reasonably determined that it would be impractical to separate the solicitation into two parts, since the solicitation's components were interrelated and interdependent. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
