Year 2000 Computing Crisis:
A Testing Guide (Supersedes AIMD-10.1.21)
AIMD-10.1.21, Nov 1, 1998
This publication supersedes AIMD-10.1.21, Year 2000 Computing Crisis: A Testing Guide (Exposure Draft), June 1998. GAO published a guide to aid federal agencies in managing all testing activities related to the year 2000 problem, focusing on five phases of year 2000 testing activities: (1) awareness; (2) assessment; (3) renovation; (4) validation; and (5) implementation. The guide recommends the structure and discipline in testing that characterize mature software and system development/acquisition and maintenance processes.
