Highlights

The Department of Agriculture requested an advance decision concerning an employee's claim for relocation expenses he incurred incident to his permanent transfer of duty stations. GAO held that the claimant was entitled to reimbursement of his: (1) actual relocation expenses, even though he did not adequately document the weight of his household goods shipment; and (2) mileage expenses, since he used his own privately owned vehicle to move his household goods. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
