[Retired Air Force Member's Request for Indebtedness Waiver]

A retired Air Force officer requested reconsideration of his denied waiver of indebtedness for overpayments he received incident to his civilian reemployment and promotion with the government. GAO held that the claimant was not eligible to waive the overpayments, since he should have known that the error existed and taken action to have it corrected. Accordingly, the waiver was denied.
