Highlights

A firm protested an Air Force contract award for a laser doppler velocimeter, contending that: (1) the Air Force failed to obtain competition; and (2) its system would meet the Air Force's requirements. GAO held that the Air Force reasonably determined that the: (1) unique features of the awardee's system, which the protester's system did not have, were critical to its needs; and (2) awardee's system was the only acceptable system available, and thus it did not need to seek competitive bids. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
