A Internal Revenue Service employee claimed reimbursement for the extra cost of a special Saturday delivery of his household goods, contending that there were net savings to the government. GAO held that the employee acted prudently in the government's interest, and reduced the government's overall expenses. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
