[Former Navy Member's Request for Indebtedness Waiver]

A Navy office requested a waiver of indebtedness for erroneous travel advances he received incident to residence at his permanent duty station while he was in a temporary duty status, contending that the travel advances were appropriate. GAO held that: (1) the claimant acted in good faith; and (2) the amount paid to him prior to when he became aware of ineligibility was appropriate. Accordingly, the claim was allowed in part.
