Highlights

A Marine Corps employee claimed reimbursement for temporary duty travel expenses, contending that a monthly car rental rate would not have been available since he was not on official business for a full month. GAO held that since a monthly rate was not available, the Corps should reimburse the claimant on a weekly or daily basis for his official business. Accordingly, the claim was allowed.
