[Request for Waiver of Indebtedness for Post-Separation Overpayment]

A former Navy reservist requested a waiver of indebtedness for post-separation overpayment, contending that: (1) he did not know he was overpaid; and (2) he had a pre-separation meeting with pay officials to ensure appropriate payment. GAO held that the protester should have suspected that a second direct deposit to his account was erroneous, and should have acted to correct it. Accordingly, waiver was denied.
