Highlights

The Per Diem, Travel and Transportation Allowance Committee requested an advance decision regarding an employee's claim for relocation expenses, health insurance premium costs, and shipping charges incident to an improper personnel action. GAO held that: (1) regulations did not authorize relocation expenses when an erroneously separated employee was reinstated; (2) the claimant could not be reimbursed for medical insurance premiums incurred during the dismissal period; and (3) it could not consider the claim concerning shipping charges, since the claimant did not provide sufficient information. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
