Highlights

The Army requested a decision regarding a civilian employee's claim for reimbursement for interest charges assessed on his late deposit into the Civil Service Retirement System. The claimant contended that the Army erroneously advised him to delay the deposit for military service credit until it completed paperwork necessary for the deposit. GAO held that there was no statutory provision authorizing such reimbursement. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
