World Economic Developments: A View From Switzerland

This article, which appeared in the GAO Journal, No. 3, Fall 1988, discusses the changing global economy, focusing on: (1) the evolution of the free world economy away from dominance by a single nation to dominance by the United States, Japan, and Europe; (2) stresses in international economic relationships since World War II; and (3) the need for cooperation among economic powers.
