Highlights

A firm protested a Defense Electronics Supply Center (DESC) contract award for electrical contacts, contending that DESC improperly accepted the awardee's alternate part, since DESC did not: (1) furnish bidders with the protester's drawings of the part; or (2) specify that it would accept alternate parts. GAO held that the protester was not sufficiently interested to protest the award, since it would not be in line for award even if its protest were sustained. Accordingly, the protest was dismissed.
