[Decision Concerning VA Employee's Claim for Reimbursement of Cost of Title Insurance]

The Veterans Administration (VA) requested a decision as to how much it should reimburse a transferred employee for his title insurance costs. GAO noted that the employee divided the cost of the title insurance with the seller of the residence. GAO held that the employee was entitled to reimbursement for what his share of the costs of the mortgage title insurance would have been if he had purchased it alone. Accordingly, VA should reimburse the employee for one-half of the mortgage title insurance fee.
