Highlights

The U.S. Information Agency requested a determination as to whether members of a particular advisory committee may be reimbursed for actual subsistence expenses that exceed the legal maximum rate. Legislation provides that advisory committee members are to be paid the same travel expenses as authorized for intermittent employees who are not allowed to be reimbursed for expenses exceeding the maximum. Accordingly, members of the committee may not be reimbursed for actual subsistence expenses exceeding the maximum.
