Highlights

A firm protested a decision by the Defense Communications Agency (DCA) to exercise a contract renewal option, contending that its product cost less and was technically superior to the contractor's product. DCA contended that, while the protester's product was technically preferable and was lower priced than the contractor's, the protester's equipment would not have been compatible with other equipment that DCA leased from the contractor. GAO held that the DCA determination was reasonable. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
