A firm protested the rejection of its proposal as late by the Army. The protester's proposal was not received by the Army until 1 day after the closing date for receipt of initial proposals. The protester did not dispute the fact tht its proposal was received late. However, the protester contended that its offer should be considered because for the past several years it has manufactured the requested item and it seems wasteful for the Government to reject an offer from a reputable vendor because of the Postal Service's failure to timely deliver its proposal when there was sufficient time to do so. Rejection of the protester's proposal by the contracting officer was proper. The protest was denied.
