A review of GAO's activities during fiscal year 1978 is presented. Topics covered are: (1) highlights of activities; (2) legislative recommendations; and (3) financial savings and other benefits. Appendices include titles of all audit reports issued during fiscal year 1978, a summary of personnel assigned to congressional committees, a description of major organizational units of GAO, and legislation enacted relating to GAO work activities.
