Legislation To Permit Military Service To Be Credited under the Civil Service Retirement Program

This document discusses GAO's views on a bill to permit military service performed by an individual after 1956 to be credited under the civil service retirement program, even though such individual is eligible for social security benefits, but requiring the civil service annuity to be offset by the amount of his social security benefit that is attributable to his military service; and s. 408, a bill to extend certain benefits to former employees of county committees established pursuant to section B(b) of the Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment Act.
