Reimbursement for Temporary Quarters Subsistence, Dependents' Travel, and Real Estate Expenses
Highlights
An advance decision was requested concerning a transferred employee's entitlement to reimbursement for temporary quarters subsistence expenses for himself and his dependents, travel expenses for dependents, and expenses in connection with sale of his residence. If properly approved, reimbursement is allowed for dependents' travel, including payment of per diem and transportation of two dependents who traveled a year later. The employee cannot be reimbursed for real estate expenses in connection with sale of a residence in a State outside of the employee's old "official station" or for subsistence expenses beyond a period of time commencing 30 days after he reported at his new station since his old residence was not vacated.
