Highlights

A company claimed $164.55 deducted by the army to compensate the Government as subrogee for damages to a shipment of household goods owned by an army member. The company argued that the Government should rely on the claim examiner's damage estimate which was the lowest estimate given of the damages. The Army Claims Services prepared the claim based on its evaluation of the value of the contract. The Claims Service estimate was proper, and the company's claim was denied.
