Reimbursement of Employee's Relocation Expenses for Sale of House

An Authorized Certifying Officer, Central Region of the Internal Revenue Service, requested an advance decision concerning reimbursement of an employee's expenses for selling a house incident to his permanant change of station. The employee, who was notified of transfer while on a two year temporary detail, was entitled to reimbusement since he would have been residing at his permanent residence if not for the Government action.
