Suggested Language for the Committee Report on the Principal House of Representatives' Lobbying Disclosure Proposal

GAO was asked to provide suggested language for the Committee Report issued by the House Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Administrative Law and Governmental Relations, on H.R. 8494, formerly H.R. 1180, the principal House lobbying disclosure proposal.  Part I contains a statement of justification for the legislation.  Part II contains a discussion of the nature of the legislation and a summary of the bill’s provisions.  Parts III and IV concern the bill’s section-by-section analysis and a statement reflecting changes to the existing lobbying law.
